KNOW IT’S JUST RAILS

I’ll be going down
and back Mondays
for most of the summer
and so I’ve heard see
these trips should
have none of the tired
zen just rail
thump rail get
there go again

People don’t
travel no individuals
do that coupled
with proper and
quiet and the trip
won’t move you

Hours before the ride
the ex-great commuter
advised “Don’t talk
to anyone on the train
and sit next to a lady”
certainly some sort
wise I disobeyed
sat alone
and wouldn’t
shut up

THE FALL OF SPAC

“Treading trodden trails
for a long, long time”

            - Dave Matthews

Khaki stomp through Litter Park:
The hundred proof picnic grounds,
where a thousand Dollys
rescind Newtonian Law
at the minor’s monument-
upside down reflecting
on that tin barrel’s top.

The cheer the moon stole
from Apollo rises now
as the base end of the
coveted demographic comes
down in its Abercrombie
crown with Golden Springs
foam at its mouth.
