Albany, NY based poet & writer R.M. Engelhardt has written a number of poems and has published several chapbooks over the last decade including "Nod","Logos","Alchemy" "Sacred Days" & Hearse". His current book of new & collected poetry & prose is entitled "THE LAST CIGARETTE". He has also just released a brief chapbook of poems as well called "THE NIGHT (2007).A poet & performance artist, Engelhardt through his ideas & visions has helped to create a large amount of the Upstate, Albany, NY spoken word scene and was the host of Albany's most former well-known poetry open mic called "The School Of Night" as well as a reading series called "Vox". Thru his efforts along with such writers as Thom Francis & Mary Panza he has created such groups the Albany Poetry Syndicate as well as Albany Poets (Now www.AlbanyPoets.com). which have left a lasting mark on the upstate NY literary scene. His work has also been published by many journals both in print and .. including Retort, Verve, Industrial Nation, Sure! The Charles Bukowski Newsletter, Copious Amounts, Thunder Sandwich, The Angry Poet, Zygote In My Coffee & in many others. Currently, R.M. lives in Albany, NY where he is the lead singer of the band "LOVE IS THE DEVIL" which also features members of the band Sunset Aside; Will Nivins & Kim13.
